Annulus offers life on the inner-edge

Ring-around

Annulus [itch.io site] is one of the Ludum Dare 38 games which has caught my eye. With this one it's because the tiny world it takes place within is ring-shaped (hence the name). With that in mind you're generally navigating the inner surface of the ring, foraging, hunting and investigating ruins.

As per the developer:

"A small, circular world. Can you guide your tribe? Inspired by A Dark Room, Non-Stop by Brian Aldiss, and the works of Iain M. Banks."

I was playing using the WASD keys and the navigation goes a bit strange at points because as you travel around the ring the axes change every now and again in relation to where your little person is so I'd suggest using the mouse instead.

Mostly I wanted to flag this up as an interesting space to play in although from the few minutes I've been exploring the decisions you make are of the general resource management kind - gathering all the berries for a one-time bumper crop or making smaller-yield repeat visits. You know the sort of thing!

Here's the Ludum Dare page if you fancy.
