How to play Connections
Connections is one of the most popular (and challenging) daily puzzle games published by the New York Times (owners of Wordle). The aim of Connections is to group the 16 words of the day into four groups, where each group of four words has a common theme.
For instance, the words "Hook", "Nana", "Peter", and "Wendy" are all Peter Pan characters. Or to take another example, "Action", "Ballpark", "Go", and "Stick" are all words which commonly come just before the word "Figure".
Your job is to figure out what these themes are that connect the various words together - but be wary, because a lot of the time there are deceptive red herring connections placed purely to throw you off! To win the game, you have to find all four Connections without making 4 mistakes. On your fourth mistake, the game is over and the answer is revealed automatically.
Each of the four groups in each day's Connections puzzle is also assigned a different colour, which represents how easy or difficult the Connection is to find. These colours are: Yellow (Easiest), Green (Easy), Blue (Medium), and Purple (Hardest).

What is today's Connections answer?
Here is the answer to today's Connections puzzle on Thursday, 27th February:
- Yellow: Contact Via Telephone (Call, Dial, Phone, Ring)
- Green: Parts Of A Car (Belt, Horn, Mirror, Wheel)
- Blue: Levels Of Biological Organization (Atom, Cell, Organ, Tissue)
- Purple: Ending With Units Of Measure (Bigfoot, Compound, Instagram, Thermometer)

Due to the words 'cell' and 'horn' being present, I didn't dare to decide on the yellow group straight away in today's Connections puzzle. When in doubt, it's better to solve a few other themes first, so that's what I did. The word 'mirror' made me think of a car, after which I spotted 'wheel' and eventually 'belt' and 'horn'. With the green group discovered, I was one step closer to the yellow theme.
I started connecting the blue words next - thanks to 'atom' and 'cell', which put me on the right path. Only the word 'thermometer' distracted me for a few seconds, and I'm not quite sure why - perhaps because I associated 'organ' and 'tissue' with being ill, and thus needing a thermometer? The brain makes funny jumps like that sometimes, but I realised quickly enough that there were only four 'parts of the human body' in this word soup (an easier interpretation than 'levels of biological organization', I should say), so the blue theme was complete as well.
Turns out I was right all along about the four words that seemed to form the yellow theme together (no cell or horn in that group), but it's good to know for certain. The purple theme was very creative, and I love hidden word themes, but as often happens in my Connections puzzles, I didn't need to solve it anymore.
Congratulations if you got today's Connections answer right, with or without the help of our handy hints above! And if you didn't succeed today, don't worry - a new Connections puzzle is released every day at midnight, so you can try again tomorrow, just like with Wordle!
