Dragon Ball Sparking Zero just got a huge discount on PC, and plays great on Steam Deck
Not even 100x gravity could keep me away from this deal.

If you've been even a little curious about Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero, now's the time to grab it. It's currently down to $46.19 / £39.59 on PC, so here's how to get the deal.
Fanatical has the Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate editions for far less than Steam, and yes, these are still official Steam codes.
It's the same download, just cheaper — especially the Standard edition, which is Fanatical's Level Up Sale: Star Deal for the next 24 hours. But act fast, only 46% of keys are left.

This is also a solid pickup if you're planning to play on Steam Deck. Sparking Zero is rated "Playable" on Steam and "Gold" on ProtonDB. It's not fully Steam Deck Verified—mainly due to small text and the need to tweak graphics settings for better performance.
Speaking of optimization: there's a simple fix for the framerate issue that makes a big difference. The game struggles below 60 FPS, but with a quick tweak, you can lock it to 40 FPS for a much smoother experience on Deck. Steps are just below.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero: Best Steam Deck Settings
Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero does run on Steam Deck, but you'll want to make one quick tweak. Out of the box, anything under 60 FPS slows the game down—a problem easily fixed by editing the Engine.ini file.
To do this, switch to Desktop Mode and head to:
/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/1790600/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/Local/SparkingZERO/Saved/Config/Windows/
Open Engine.ini, scroll to the bottom, and add the following lines:
[/script/engine.engine]
FixedFrameRate=40
[SystemSettings]
bUseFixedFrameRate=True
bSmoothFrameRate=False
FixedFrameRate=40
FrameRateLimit=40
Save the file, return to Game Mode, and match your SteamOS framerate limit to 40 FPS. Running at 75% resolution with mostly Medium settings, it stays locked at 40 FPS without dips. Text is still a bit small and visuals occasionally rough, but performance is solid once configured.
Alternative Settings for 50–60 FPS
I've also tested a setup that pushes closer to 60 FPS while keeping the game visually solid. This configuration drops frames occasionally during loading screens but holds strong during actual battles:
- Resolution Scale: 100
- V-Sync: Off
- Anti-Aliasing Quality: High
- Shadow Quality: Off
- Texture Quality: High
- Post-Processing Quality: Low
- Effect Quality: Medium
- Depth of Field: Off
- LOD Quality: Medium
- Grass Quality: Low
- Motion Blur Quality: Off
- Camera Shake: Low
- Destruction Effect Quality: Low
This build offers a nice balance of performance and visuals, especially if you prefer a smoother frame rate without diving into config files.
