Elden Ring: Nightreign's new Raider trailer channels the eternal power of bonk

Please stop bullying the demi-humans

FromSoftware, in their eternal quest to avoid giving us the damn moon already, have released a new character trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign. This time, it's the Raider - a decidedly unsubtle chap wielding a large stone lollipop and fond of devastating uppercuts, headbutting knights, and problem drinking. He also has the ability to summon walls. One is used in the trailer as an archery platform slash plunging attack allower. Here's that trailer.

As you can see, the trailer goes to great lengths to sell the Raider's beefy prowess, then ends with him bullying the shit out of a deeply pathetic Demi-Human Queen - a boss notable for how much of a dick I felt every time I had to kill one. They're effectively Elden Ring's version of limping Sif from Dark Souls - a creature you don't so much overcome as put out of their misery while feeling awful about it. Ah well. Gotta bonk something.

Neightreign is still due out at the end of next month - 30th May, as shown off in the trailer with an advert for a handsome collector's edition. Personally, shelling out for a collector's edition for a game that'll likely be offline and thus unplayable in under four years isn't at the top of my priorities list, but I'm still interested in Nightreign, even if I agree that FromSoftware's forays into multiplayer focused titles undermine a lot of what's special about their previous work. In the meantime, you can fill your boots with seamless co-op for Dark Souls.
