Sling Spells At Chums In Grimoire's Trial Weekend

Which sort of a wizard would you be? I don't mean Gryffindor or Hufflepuff or whatnot, no, the cool stuff: do you want to fling fire, summon earth golems, heal people, or skip that hippy junk and draw upon the consuming powers of the void? Perhaps you might find Grimoire: Manastorm [official site] a helpful, and violent, sorting hat.

Though the multiplayer first/third-person arena wizard war is still in Steam Early Access, it's opening up to let everyone have a look at how that's working out through a free full trial weekend.

Grimoire sees wizards duking it out in fantasy lands, with a selection of classes offering elemental spells on top of some shared movement and utility spells. Every time I see it, a load of old Quake mods run together in my memories. Future vs. Fantasy might be the foundation, but I know I'm smooshing another few mods in there too. Anyway, the point is, that makes me feel quite warm towards Grimoire even though I've never played it. I should remedy that this weekend.

The free trial will run until 1pm PDT on Sunday. Grimoire is also on sale during the trial weekend, half-price down to £4.99/6,49€. If you're just starting out, this guide might explain some of the basics. And observe, a recent trailer:
