The Foxer

Did you know my Chief Foxer Setter had a fungus named after him? The yolk-yellow caps of Boletus romanii stud the pine straw of conifer forests in Northern Europe between September and November. Prized by chefs, Roman's Boletus can be eaten uncooked but rarely is because of the mild Acetylcholinesterase blocker it contains. Consumed raw the mushroom palsies the face leaving the eater wearing a weird puzzled expression for anything up to 12 hours.

The last five entries in the list – those marked with asterisks – are especially fiendish. Not only are they vowel-less, they have also been anagrammed.
