The Maw: what's new in PC games this week?
From Delta Force to Diesel Legacy, Marvel to Mythwrecked
To your stations, colleagues! December has ambushed us like a hideous hairy man in a red bobble hat, and time is of the essence. In just a handful of weeks, Horace the Endless Bear shall strike the brazen gong labelled "Happy holidays" and atomise the world, that it may be born anew in 2025. Before that, we must heap the Maw high with any remaining new video games or video game news from 2024. Find below a few new PC releases for the pile. I thought it was going to be a quiet week, but it's actually quite a boisterous haul.
On Monday 2nd December, it's time to Get To Work, for we are bald and have rollerskates for hands and feet. On Tuesday 3rd December, it's hammer time in Pizza Tower-esque platformer Antonblast and, er, feather boa time in 2v2 fighting game Diesel Legacy: The Brazen Age. On Wednesday 4th December, it's time to be a mech-riding sharpshooter space frog in Entropy Survivors. On Thursday 5th December - well, there are many ways to spend time: being a shootyman in Delta Force, befriending amnesiac gods in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, acrobatically traversing a world of musical machines in Symphonia, exploring beautiful Final Fantasy dioramas in Fantasian: Neo Dimension. And on Friday 6th December, it's time to Assemble some Avengers and other caped eccentrics in Marvel Rivals.
Augh, there's a really terrific PC game I forgot to include! No, not Caves Of Qud 1.0 on the 5th, or Path Of Exile 2 on the 6th (thanks, Fachewachewa) - the other one. Only you know which game it is. Please deposit that game with all due reverence in the comments thread. Find the latest news liveblog below, and have a terrific week.
Our live coverage of this event has finished.
IT IS MONDOTA 2
It's a MOBA-themed pun week! Fingers crossed we don't run out of MOBAs. FEED THE MAW.Here's the opening movie for the upcoming Suikoden I & II remasters. Be still, my heart.
The launch trailer for Marvel Rivals, which has a certain Street Fighter charm. The game itself appears to be Overwatch again, but with destructible terrain and much I-Am-Grooting.

LEAGUESDAY OF LEGENDS
Don't let me down at the second hurdle, MOBA week. FEED THE MAW.Call Of Duty is doing a Squid Game collaboration. Will it be a story about poverty and class war, or will it be like the scene where you have to run up on the singing doll, but everybody has a Jackal PDW?
The launch trailer for Indiana Johns And The Great Rhombus.
SeekerX says: Wednesday 12/4 sees Moon Watch launch into Early Access -- a new roguelike from the Backpack Hero developers. Vampire Survivors-ish, but more of a bullet hell game, with deck-building elements, and playing by Superhot "time only moves when you do" rules? Interesting! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2878030/Moon_Watch/
Oh yeah, I wrote about the demo for this one. It seems fun.
Tic tac toe (aka noughts and crosses) has been Balatroed in the shape of Tic Tactic, a roguelike deckbuilder where you "form combos to deal damage, defeat opponents to collect new tiles, and face stronger enemies as you push ever closer to the chicken stronghold". Yes, the baddies are chickens. Find a free browser demo here.
HEROES OF NEWEDNESDAY
Ahhh, a MOBA from 2010, when MOBAs were still new and exciting. FEED THE MAW.Ubisoft have binned off their free-to-play shooter XDefiant, closed three studios and laid off 277 people, mere months after exec producer Mark Rubin said there were no plans to shut the game down.
Fallout 76's Gleaming Depths expansion is live, adding a high level raid and an especially tough boss.
X4: Foundations is getting a new flight model with help from a former senior physics programmer on Star Citizen. The update is now in public beta.
Some new paid DLC for Cities Skylines 2 - the Urban Promenades and Modern Architecture Creator Packs. Also, soft rock radio.
Oh look, it's Subnautica in space.

BATTLEFRIDAY
Mawning all! I'm off today and Monday, but couldn't resist completing the MOBA pun sequence.
