How to skip the intro in Oblivion
This is how to skip the tutorial in Oblivion Remastered

Want to skip the intro in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered? Every new game of Oblivion starts in a dusky dungeon followed by a lengthy trip through the rat-infested sewers. This may be fun on your first playthrough (you'll to meet a rather important person after all), but if it's your second, third, or even tenth game, you might want to hop into the wider world of Cyrodiil right away.
Luckily, there's a way to skip Oblivion's intro, but it either involves well-timed save files or mods. In this guide, we'll tell you exactly how to skip the intro in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered.
How to skip the intro of Oblivion
You can't skip Oblivion's intro on your first playthrough without mods (more on that below), but it wouldn't be advisable to do so anyway as you'd miss the first part of the story. That said, if you save your game before the tutorial section ends, you can use this save as a starting point for future playthroughs. Don't worry about race, appearance, class, and birthsigns: you can still adjust all of that before leaving the tutorial area - but not after you've left! So, if you save your game before you open that final door into Cyrodiil, you'll have the perfect quickstart for new games.
The game will warn you when you're about to leave the tutorial area, but to make sure you don't miss the save point, let's do a quick tutorial walkthrough. The introduction starts with your character meeting the Emperor, who uses their cell to escape into the sewers. After following the Emperor and his guards for a short while, you'll be left to fend for yourself.

The next section takes you through a bunch of dark tunnels inhabited by rats, a single zombie, and some goblins. In the first cave, be sure to pick up some weapons so you can defend yourself. You won't get jumped by any particularly strong foes, so it's perfectly fine to rush through. There's no need to loot everything either; the enemy drops and junk aren't worth much, and you'll get overencumbered quickly.

Eventually, you'll find yourself on a ledge from where you can see the Emperor. Jump down and the Emperor will allow you to join them (he'll also ask you to choose a birthsign). Keep following the Emperor and his guards and take down the assassins as they appear. At some point, you'll be stuck in a corner together with the Emperor, who will give you the Amulet of Kings. You'll be asked to choose your class by a guard shortly after, and given free reign to find the exit.
Be warned that it'll be another brisk walk to the exit of the sewers, with a few more rats and goblins barring the way. Ultimately, you will find a deep tunnel with a bright light coming in from the opposite end, the "Gate to the City Isle". This is the final door to Cyrodiil's open world, so this is where you must create a save file to skip the intro on your next Oblivion playthrough.

After creating the save file, open the gate and adjust your identity (character creation), class, and birthsign if you wish, then choose 'Finished - Exit Sewers' to begin your adventure.

How to skip Oblivion's intro with mods
If you want to skip the intro on your first playthrough, or if you've forgotten to create a save file before leaving the sewers, you can use mods to avoid Oblivion's tutorial. The "Pre-exit sewers save for Oblivion Remastered" mod by msk-one is one option, but you can also look at Oblivion's Nexus Mods page and search for an intro-skipping mod yourself.
And that's all you need to skip the intro in The Elder Scrolls IV: Remastered. Before you head out, make sure you've chosen the best race to favour the right Attributes in your character build. Now that you're headed into the vast world of Cyrodiil beyond its sewers, you might also want to know how long it'll take to beat Oblivion. Have fun!
