Merry Caristmas: Rocket League Festivities Announced

Santa hats for cars!

It's beginning to look at a lot like Christmas, and not just because tweets from Americans celebrating Thanksgiving today are a great preview of this year's Crimble arguments. The Christmas market has set up here in Edinburgh, and wee wobbly cars are skidding around the ice-skating rink with mittens trailing behind them on strings. Rocket League [official site] is preparing to get in on the festive fun too, announcing a 'Snow Day' event with an icy pitch and a big old puck to push. You'll also get to pick up Christmassy accessories for your sportcar, like antlers and hats.

Snow Day will arrive on December 14th, developers Psyonix have announced, replacing the Mutator Mashup playlist with this new winter wonderland.

It'll also bring the 'Winter Games' collection of items, which will be available until January 4th, 2016 then be pulled from the drop pool until next Christmas. They're unlocked simply by playing matches, win or lose, and will stay with you after the event ends, but the chances of them dropping are lower than regular items. You'll find Christmas tree, Santa hat, and antler toppers (carhats), along with candy cane and Christmas present antenna accessories, and a rocket trail that's all wrapped gifts and tartan ribbon.

Psyonix also confirmed that the post-apocalyptic Chaos Run DLC will arrive on December 1st. They're busy, that lot, aren't they?

There's 30% off Rocket Leaguein the Steam sale, by the way.
