All Kabukimono locations in Assassin's Creed Shadows
Where to find all 8 Kabukimono in Assassin's Creed Shadows
Want to track down all 8 Kabukimono in Assassin's Creed Shadows? Naoe and Yasuke's primary goal in Assassin's Creed Shadows is to assassinate the various Onryo (or Shinbakufu) vying for control of Japan. But there are various other, smaller rings of do-badders running rampant through the region, and one of them is introduced to you fairly early on in the starting region of Izumi Settsu: the group of malicious and lawless ronin known as the Kabukimono.
To begin the Kabukimono quest, head to Nishinomiya Shrine Town in the northwest of Izumi Settsu across the river, and speak with Shin'nyo to hear about the dangers of the Kabukimono. There are 8 Kabukimono in total, 5 of which are to be found inside Izumi Settsu itself. They can be tough fights for new players (especially on higher difficulties), but the rewards that each Kabukimono drops are well worth tracking down early on.
In the guide below, we'll show you exactly where to find each of the 8 Kabukimono in Assassin's Creed Shadows, including the optional locations in the second half of the questline where you choose whether to take the remaining 3 leaders on together or separately.
All Kabukimono locations
There are 8 Kabukimono in total, but at first only 5 of them are available to hunt. All 5 of these Kabukimono are located in the starting region of Izumi Settsu, and after you've assassinated all 5 of them, you can return to the shrine where you started the quest in order to track down the locations of the remaining three.
To save you time (and Scouts), here are the locations of all 8 Kabukimono in Assassin's Creed Shadows:
Kabukimono | Location | Done! |
---|---|---|
Big Sueki | Found outside the back of the tavern in Muko Post Town, on the northern border of Amagasaki Castle in western Izumi Settsu. | |
Chief Cuckoo | Found around the back of several buildings in Katano Oil Trading, a section of the village west of Katano Castle in central Izumi Settsu just below the river. | |
Grave Dancer | Inside Sumiyoshi Shrine, south of Osaka Castle and northeast of Sakai. He can be found speaking with a fellow ronin and then patrolling the Shrine. | |
Ember | In west Osaka, in the courtyard nearest the western bridge into Kojo Ruins. The courtyard has a large fire burning, and several explosive barrels. | |
Ghost General | In the Port of Sakai on the west coast in Izumi Settsu, south of Osaka. He can be found standing near the end of the largest pier. | |
Corrupt Blade | If together: Found in the Lumberyard southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort in Harima. If separate: Found at Habayama Camp, southwest of Miki Castle in the region of Harima. | |
Laughing Man | If together: Found in the Lumberyard southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort in Harima. If separate: Found at Blackstone Cascades, due north of Kitano Village in north Hirama. | |
Peacock | If together: Found in the Lumberyard southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort in Harima. If separate: Found at the border between Hirama and Tamba, in the south of the Tonomine Kogen Wetlands. |
Killing each of these Kabukimono targets will give you a large amount of XP and 2x Mastery Points, along with an Engraving and a randomised weapon drop. Be aware that the final three Kabukimono are much higher level, and you should wait until you're around Level 23 or higher before you deal with them.
Where to find Big Sueki

Big Sueki is found very near where you began the Kabukimono questline. From the Nishinomiya Shrine, head east and take the path north of Amagasaki Castle to reach Muko Post Town. There you'll find Big Sueki and his gang drinking outside the back of the tavern on the main road as you enter the town.
Where to find Chief Cuckoo

Chief Cuckoo is located in Katano Oil Trading, which is the southern part of the village right next to Katano Castle in Izumi Settsu. He can be found with his gang in a shared courtyard behind several houses.
Where to find Grave Dancer

Grave Dancer is found in Sumiyoshi Shrine, just above the river northeast of Sakai and due south of Osaka Castle. He's not in the shrine itself, but within the walls of the area. He's alone but for a single ronin, which makes him among the easiest Kabukimono to deal with.
Where to find Ember

Ember is located in Osaka, on the very western edge. Head to the courtyard nearest the bridge that connects Osaka to the Kojo Ruins to the northwest, and you'll find Ember with his gang surrounding a large fire... and several barrels of explosives. I think you know what to do.
Where to find Ghost General

Ghost General can be found on the largest of Sakai's piers, sticking out into the ocean. He'll be there speaking to one of his fellow evildoers, but there's a smattering of enemies in the vicinity as well, guarding the port.
Choice: Deal with the remaining Kabukimono separately or together?
After you kill the first five Kabukimono, you then need to return to Nishinomiya Shrine Town where you began the quest. Interact with the shrine, and you'll get to choose whether to take down the remaining three Kabukimono separately, or bring them together and kill them all in one fell swoop. The choice is yours, but dealing with all three at once is obviously a bit more challenging!
Where to find Corrupt Blade

If you choose to take down the remaining Kabukimono separately, then Corrupt Blade is the nearest target. He can be found inside Habayama Camp, a small encampment in the forest southwest of the city of Miki, in the far deadlier region of Harima.
If you choose to take down the Kabukimono together, then Corrupt Blade will be found in a small lumberyard by the road southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort - also in Harima.
Where to find Laughing Man

If you take down the three Kabukimono separately, then Laughing Man will be located in Blackstone Cascades, a small and otherwise tranquil pond in northern Harima, due north of Kitano Village and a short distance west of Ryugataki Falls.
If you choose to take the Kabukomono down together, then Laughing Man will be in the same place as Corrupt Blade - in the lumberyard southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort.
Where to find Peacock

If you choose to kill the Kabukimono separately, Peacock is the furthest afield. He can be found south of the Tonomine Kogen Wetlands, which itself is located right on the border between Harima and its northern neighbouring region, Tamba.
But if you choose to kill the Kabukimono together, then of course Peacock can be found in the same Lumberyard as Laughing Man and Corrupt Blade, surrounded by their joint forces southeast of Takagi Otsuka Fort.
