To get your Hope Charm talisman, talk with Conut, a Palico who runs the Support Desk and hangs out to the left of Gemma's blacksmith. If you've rescued Tom from the Quematrice in Chapter 1-2, Conut is located next to Tom's Ingredient Center.

Talk with Conut and select the I'd like to request support option. Then navigate down to Claim Content, where you can claim the Hope Charm talisman for yourself. Now, all you need to do is go to your tent and navigate to the Change Equipment menu. A slot for equippable talismans awaits you.

While you're in your tent, go to the Equipment Appearance section of the menu to equip each piece of your Guild Knight layered armor set. Keep in mind that layered armor sets go atop other armors, and are purely cosmetic and do not offer any in-game benefits other than switching up your appearance. If you've been playing the Monster Hunter franchise for a while and are familiar with the Guild Knights (who go after poachers and hunters who get out of line), the fashion factor should be more than enough, though!

What does the Hope Charm do in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Hope Charm is a good starting talisman, giving you two equipment skills both at Level 1 - Recovery Up, which increases the amount recovered when restoring health, and Self-Improvement, which makes attack and defence increase as time passes while on a quest.
