Monster Hunter Wilds: Where to find Ember Rufflizard
Here's where to go to find Ember Rufflizards for Dareel
Looking for an Ember Rufflizard in Monster Hunter Wilds? The two researchers in the base camp of Monster Hunter Wilds, Dareel and Samin, have no shortage of tasks for you to undertake. These side quests require you to capture certain forms of Endemic Life and bring them back for study, and one such Endemic Life is the Ember Rufflizard.
This heat-seeking lizard can only be found in the Oilwell Basin, and unless you know where to go, you can end up searching in the wrong places for ages before coming across one. In this guide, we'll make the job easy by showing you exactly where to find Ember Rufflizards in Monster Hunter Wilds, so you can capture one for Dareel's Research Report.
Where to find Ember Rufflizard
Ember Rufflizards are only found in the hottest, most lava-filled areas of the Oilwell Basin, the third region unlocked in Monster Hunter Wilds. They are small and glow a luminescent green colour, making them stand out quite clearly against the rocks of the Basin.
There's one place to go if you want to find Ember Rufflizards: the lava pools in area 15 of the Oilwell Basin. You'll almost always find a small pack of Ember Rufflizards scooting about the magma if you go there, no matter the time of day or the season.

If you want easy access to this Ember Rufflizard-filled area, then you can set up a Pop-Up Camp in the small area just north of the lava pool, which will allow you to fast travel there anytime you like.
Area 15 of the Oilwell Basin is a hazardous place. It's blazingly hot, for one thing, so you'll continuously lose health unless you use a Cool Drink or snatch a Chillmantle Bug from nearby. But this area is also a hunting ground for Nu Udra, the apex monster of the Basin region. So keep an eye out while you're searching for Ember Rufflizards.
Once you've caught an Ember Rufflizard with your Capture Net, you can take it back to Dareel in the Windward Plains to complete his side quest, Dareel's Research Report.
