Not sure what Hunter Rank you need for Chapter 5-2 in Monster Hunter Wilds? Take advantage of this short walkthrough to get the answer and a couple of quick tips.

If you're lucky you may already be at the right rank in Monster Hunter Wilds or not need to finish many quests to get there. You can always answer SOS calls to help other players and gain some experience as well.

  • Investigate the regions and raise your HR

Chapter 5-3 is all about grinding your Hunter Rank to 40 to complete this main mission. Once you reach that rank, Alma will tell you that Nata wants to speak with you in the Windward Plains. If you still need help grinding those levels, make sure to complete optional quests and side quests. You'll gain experience from a successful hunt and completing your quests.

Fortunately due to how Monster Hunter Wilds works, you can start quests by hunting monsters in your environment. You don't necessarily need to go through Alma. As long as the monster you hunt isn't too high above your Hunter Rank, you can attack them to start a quest. I like doing this sometimes, since it's quick and easy to skip from one monster to the next. But, you may want to check what threat level they are to make sure you get a decent chunk of experience. If you go after low-rank monsters, you won't get very much.

This is a good time to also focus on getting resources for armour or weapons you may want. You're getting close to the end of the Monster Hunter Wilds story, so you'll want to have everything you need. Even if that's just some Armor Spheres to boost your defence. Or perhaps parts to craft an Artian Weapon you want.
