The Esperanza Daggers come with enormous amounts of white sharpness, and alongside the Lv2 Speed Sharpening which dramatically speeds up your whetstone usage, you'll never have to worry about weapon sharpness again. Aside from this, these Dual Blades feature very respectable stats across the board, along with a natural little Affinity boost thanks to the Critical Eye Skill. It's easy to make, and a great gateway into the endgame weapons of the Dual Blades tree.

How to get Esperanza Daggers:

The Esperanza Daggers Dual Blades is the final form of the Expedition tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Hope Daggers I: 200z
  2. Hope Daggers II: 2x Iron Ore, 500z
  3. Hope Daggers III: 3x Dragonite Ore, 2x Machalite Ore, 1500z
  4. Hope Daggers IV: 4x Carbalite Ore, 4000z
  5. Hope Daggers V: 4x Monster Harbone, 5x Fucium Ore, 14000z
  6. Esperanza Daggers: 5x Hunter Symbol I, 1x Bird Wyvern Gem, 20000z

"An upgraded Fledderklauen. Their eyes are awash with despair, a vision of the world's ghastly end."

The Hungerklauen are not nearly as simple to craft as the Esperanza Daggers, but they dramatically boost your affinity up to 20%, which is fantastic for the swiftly-attacking Dual Blades. Raw damage per hit may be on the low end, but these blades also deal a lot of Dragon Element damage, elevated further by the Lv3 Critical Element Skill, which greatly increases elemental damage when landing critical hits. Add to this the fact that it has almost as much white sharpness as the Esperanza Daggers, and you've got a phenomenal choice of endgame weapon that can rip apart monsters weak to the Dragon element, like Arkveld, Rathalos, and Gore Magala.

How to get Hungerklauen:

The Hungerklauen Dual Blades is the final form of the Gore Magala tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Kut-Ku Pair I: 1x Yian Kut-Ku Certificate S, 3x Kut-Ku Wing, 2x Kut-Ku Ear, 5x Kut-Ku Scale+, 4000z
  2. Twin Flames I: 2x Rathalos Certicicate S, 5x Rathian Carapace, 4x Rathalos Wing, 1x Rath Medulla, 10000z
  3. Fledderklauen I: 3x Gore Magala Certificate S, 4x Gore Magala Ripclaw+, 1x Gore Magala Tail, 5x Frenzy Shard, 14000z
  4. Hungerklauen: 5x Hunter Symbol III, 2x Gore Magala Feeler+, 1x Gore Magala Nyctgem, 5x Frenzy Crystal, 20000z

Wyvern Lovers

"Upgraded Twin Flames. The champion over wyvern fire who wields them will set the world ablaze."

The Wyvern Lovers are probably the best Dual Blades - or perhaps even the best weapon in general - for rapidly inflicting Fire damage. Once again it has plenty of white sharpness, a good baseline affinity level, and Lv3 in Critical Boost to further increase your crit damage. At 200 Fire Attack, it's not quite as good for raw damage as the Dual Kut-Ku, which also is fire-based; but the Dual Kut-Ku has barely any white sharpness, which is why I generally opt for the Wyvern Lovers instead.

How to get Wyvern Lovers:

The Wyvern Lovers Dual Blades is the final form of the Rathalos tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Kut-Ku Pair I: 1x Yian Kut-Ku Certificate S, 3x Kut-Ku Wing, 2x Kut-Ku Ear, 5x Kut-Ku Scale+, 4000z
  2. Twin Flames I: 2x Rathalos Certicicate S, 5x Rathian Carapace, 4x Rathalos Wing, 1x Rath Medulla, 10000z
  3. Wyvern Lovers: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 1x Rathian Ruby, 1x Rathalos Ruby, 20000z
