Best Insect Glaive in Monster Hunter Wilds
These are the best endgame Insect Glaives in Wilds right now
What is the best Insect Glaive in Monster Hunter Wilds? The fascinating and satisfying Insect Glaive has a number of facets in Monster Hunter Wilds - the most prominent of which is the ability to control massive bugs called Kinsects, to bash into monsters and harvest their essence to empower your attacks. But even aside from this, they're powerful and enjoyable weapons in their own right, allowing you to launch yourself into the sky for some very flashy and highly damaging airborne attacks.
Below, we've selected three weapons out of the entire Insect Glaive weapon tree, which we consider to be a step above the rest. We'll explain our reasoning for each one, and explore what makes them the very best Insect Glaives in Monster Hunter Wilds right now.
Stealth Glaive Redux

"The Stealth Glaive's enhanced form. The weapon of choice for an expert Kinsect user in a secret society."

The Stealth Glaive Redux, made from easily-obtainable Nerscylla parts, is unbelievably sharp, more so even than its rival in the Esperanza tree. It has one of the lowest raw damage values of the endgame Insect Glaives, but the highest possible Kinsect Level, a very respectable +15% affinity, a good smattering of Skills, and the ability to inflict Sleep without too much trouble. If you want raw damage then this may not be for you, but I find it perfectly compliments my style of play with the Insect Glaive, and you may find it does too.
How to get Stealth Glaive Redux:
The Stealth Glaive Redux Insect Glaive is the final form of the Nerscylla tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:
- Bone Staff I: 2x Mystery Bone, 500z
- Barina Perche I: 3x Lala Barina Shell, 2x Lala Barina Mucus, 1x Lala Barina Claw, 500z
- Stealth Glaive I: 3x Nerscylla Shell, 2x Nerscylla Claw, 1x Sleep Sac, 1500z
- Stealth Glaive II: 1x Nerscylla Certificate S, 3x Nerscylla Claw+, 3x Coma Sac, 5000z
- Stealth Glaive III: 3x Jin Dahaad Certificate S, 5x Nerscylla Spike+, 2x Nerscylla Shear, 3x Monster Broth, 14000z
- Stealth Glaive Redux: 5x Hunter Symbol I, 6x Nerscylla Carapace, 1x Bird Wyvern Gem, 20000z
Immaculate Blizzard

"An upgraded Blizzard Glaive that handles as nimbly as the simian god who hurdled the islands of the sea."

The Immaculate Blizzard is a hard-hitting Ice-Element Insect Glaive made quite easily from Blangonga parts (let's face it, Blangonga are pushovers). It matches the Stealth Glaive Redux's Lv10 Kinsect Level, and features considerably higher base damage. The Lv3 Focus is also a welcome bonus on just about any weapon in the game. And there's still a healthy amount of white sharpness on the Immaculate Blizzard, albeit not nearly as much as the Stealth Glaive. All this comes at the cost of -10% affinity, which isn't the end of the world as you can offset this drawback using Gems and other Skills elsewhere.
How to get Immaculate Blizzard:
The Immaculate Blizzard Insect Glaive is the final form of the Blangonga tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:
- Blizzard Glaive I: 2x Blangonga Certificate S, 5x Blangonga Fang+, 4x Blangonga Whisker, 4x Blango Pelt+, 10000z
- Immaculate Blizzard: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Blangonga Pelt+, 4x Blangonga Tail, 1x Jin Dahaad Icegem, 20000z
Gravordius

"An inferno to blaze the way, leaving naught but ash in its wake. Such is the upgraded Graviafaren."

Gravordius is our final pick for the best Insect Glaive right now in Monster Hunter Wilds. It features the highest raw damage of any Glaive, alongside some great Blast damage and two Lv3 gem slots for further buffing. Lv3 Punishing Draw is just an added bonus; the true lure is the incredible damage potential, which makes launching yourself around the monster with an Insect Glaive even more satisfying. You'll have to compensate with just blue sharpness instead of white, and a -15% affinity hit, which again you'll need to offset with Gems and Skills in other areas of your gear. Once you've done this though, there's no Insect Glaive that hits harder.
How to get Gravordius:
The Gravordius Insect Glaive is the final form of the Gravios tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:
- Graviafaren I: 2x Gravios Certificate S, 5x Gravios Wing, 3x Gravios Skull, 4x Gravios Pleura+, 10000z
- Gravordius: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Gravios Carapace, 1x Gravios Medulla, 1x Wyvern Gem, 20000z
