What is the best Hammer in Monster Hunter Wilds? The Hammer tree, more than perhaps any other weapon tree in Monster Hunter Wilds, is filled with some absolutely gorgeous slabs of metal, husk, and bone, designed to do just one thing above all else: bonk big monster heads. The Hammer delivers massive blunt damage in an easy-to-use package, and there's a lot of them to choose from. But which is the best 8-Rarity Hammer to work towards throughout your playthrough?

In this guide below, we'll reveal our picks for the best Hammer in Monster Hunter Wilds, counting only the most powerful endgame Hammers and their ability to stun, exhaust, and otherwise pummel even the most oversized monsters into submission.

G. Exultant Bedivere

The G. Exultant Bedivere is a powerhouse Hammer with a whopping 1248 Attack - even more than the massively powerful Grimslayer Urgeom Great Sword. It's unusual to find such strong attack with only a -10% affinity, which is easily offset by the right Gems and Skills. This sorted, you're left with an incredibly strong, high sharpness Hammer with a good extra amount of Dragon Element attack, and Lv2 Focus for speeding up your Hammer's all-important charge-up attacks.

How to get G. Exultant Bedivere:

The G. Exultant Bedivere Hammer is the final form of the Guardian Arkveld tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Chata Clobberer I: 3x Chatacabra Scale, 2x Chatacabra Hide, 1x Chatacabra Jaw, 500z
  2. Chata Clobberer II: 1x Rompopolo Claw, 2x Chatacabra Shell, 1500z
  3. G. Veldian Malleus I: 3x Guardian Scale, 3x Guardian Pelt, 1x Guardian Blood, 2x Tough Guardian Bone, 2600z
  4. G. Veldian Malleus II: 6x Guardian Scale+, 6x Guardian Pelt+, 3x Guardian Blood+, 1x Dragonbone Relic, 10000z
  5. G. Exultant Bedivere: 5x Hunter Symbol Ill, 4x Arkveld Calloushell, 2x Arkveld Tail, 1x Arkveld Gem, 20000z

Singha Gada

"A colder, enhanced Blan Gada. Grants the strength of a simian god who plucked mountains from the earth."

The wonderfully easy-to-craft Singha Gada is another Hammer that enjoys incredibly high raw attack, even without the Ice damage added on top. It also enjoys more white sharpness than the G. Exultant Bedivere, and the cherry on top is the Lv3 Slugger Skill, which dramatically improves the effectiveness of head-bonking stun attacks. And let's face it, that's the reason anyone uses the Hammer in the first place.

How to get Singha Gada:

The Singha Gada Hammer is the final form of the Blangonga tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Blan Gada I: 2x Blangonga Certificate S, 5x Blangonga Fang+, 4x Blangonga Whisker, 4x Blango Pelt+, 10000z
  2. Singha Gada: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Blangonga Pelt+, 4x Blangonga Tail, 1x Jin Dahaad Icegem, 20000z

Precipice Logamtu

"An upgraded Jin Dhauda. Its impact freezes targets so fast they won't feel the pain of obliteration."

Our final contender for best Hammer is the Precipice Logamtu - another Ice-element Hammer with a whopping 500 Ice Attack - double that of the Singha Gada. It also has a baseline 0% affinity, so there's no need to offset negative affinity. The only downside is slightly lower raw damage, and Lv3 Focus instead of Lv3 Slugger - though Focus is still a brilliant Skill for Hammers to have, so it comes down to a matter of preference really.

How to get Precipice Logamtu:

The Precipice Logamtu Hammer is the final form of the Jin Dahaad tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Hope Hammer I: 200z
  2. Hope Hammer II: 2x Iron Ore, 500z
  3. Iron Hammer I: 1x Machalite Ore, 2x Earth Crystal, 800z
  4. Iron Hammer II: 1x Lightcrystal, 2x Icium, 2600z
  5. Iron Hammer III: 4x Fucium Ore, 3x Gracium, 3x Monster Keenbone, 10000z
  6. Jin Dhauda I: 1x Jin Dahaad Certificate S, 5x Jin Dahaad Claw+, 4x Jin Dahaad Iceplate, 1x Jin Dahaad Tail, 14000z
  7. Precipice Logamtu: 5x Hunter Symbol III, 4x Jin Dahaad Horn, 4x Jin Dahaad Carapace, 1x Jin Dahaad Icegem, 20000z
