What is the best Lance in Monster Hunter Wilds? The Lance must be a very frustrating weapon for monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds to face up against, eh? Top-of-the-line defence in the form of a ridiculously large tower shield means the hunter can effectively stay safe while charging up thrusts and strikes all the live-long day. But despite the fact that there are 71 of these menacing weapons in the Monster Hunter Wilds Lance weapon tree, there is a small handful of Lances that have risen above the rest.

Below, we'll reveal our picks for which are the best Lances in Monster Hunter Wilds right now. You can find in-depth stats on each one below, along with an explanation of why each Lance is so incredibly powerful even in the endgame.

Best Lances in Monster Hunter Wilds

Looking to find the best lance to go hunting monsters with? There are dozens of lances you can choose from, but if you want to skip trying and testing different weapons to find the very best one we're here to help.

Below you'll find our picks for the best lances in Monster Hunter Wilds:

Fierceborer Dubhanith

"A further upgraded Dosha Fierceborer. Its sharp tip cries out for more sacrifices."

The Fierceborer Dubhanith nears the pinnacle for raw damage among Lances, and amazingly this only comes at the cost of -5% affinity, which is very easily offset by Gems and other Skills. It also comes with 2x Lv3 Gem slots for buffing the weapon further than most other Lances will allow. In general, if you're opting for a Lance then raw damage should be prioritised over elemental damage or affinity, which is what makes this Doshaguma-based Lance such an excellent endgame choice.

How to get Fierceborer Dubhanith:

The Fierceborer Dubhanith Lance is the final form of the Doshaguma tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Bone Lance I: 2x Mystery Bone, 500z
  2. Quematrice Lanza I: 3x Quematrice Scale, 2x Quematrice Igniter, 1x Quematrice Crest, 500z
  3. Dosha Fierceborer I: 3x Doshaguma Fur, 2x Doshaguma Claw, 1x Doshaguma Fang, 800z
  4. Dosha Fierceborer II: 1x Guardian Doshaguma Claw, 3x Doshaguma Hide, 1x Tough Guardian Bone, 2600z
  5. Dosha Fierceborer III: 2x Doshaguma Certificate S, 6x Doshaguma Claw+, 4x Doshaguma Fang+, 10000z
  6. Fierceborer Dubhanith: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Doshaguma Hide+, 1x Beast Gem, 20000x

Gravios Lance

"An upgraded Gravios Spear capable of piercing anything: plating, bone, even the very spark of life."

The Gravios Lance outperforms even the Fierceborer Dubhanith for raw damage, and it also has the highest natural defence of any Lance (indeed, any weapon in the game) thanks to its +30 Defense Bonus and Lv3 Guard Up Skill. The large amount of Blast Element damage is also very fun indeed. All this comes at the cost of only blue sharpness and a -15% hit to affinity, which will need to be offset before you can take full advantage of the Gravios Lance's sheer might.

How to get Gravios Lance:

The Gravios Lance is the final form of the Gravios tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Gravios Spear I: 2x Gravios Certificate S, 5x Gravios Wing, 3x Gravios Skull, 4x Gravios Pleura+, 10000z
  2. Gravios Lance: 5x Hunter Symbol II, 6x Gravios Carapace, 1x Gravios Medulla, 1x Wyvern Gem, 20000z

Indra Clairlance

"An upgraded Rey Indra. To invaders it shows no quarter, punishing legions with each fulgurant bite."

The Indra Clairlance is our final pick for best Lance in the game. It's a straightforward, jack-of-all-trades Lance with some strong Thunder Elemental damage, and tonnes of white sharpness to spare. The stats across the board are good, and there's no downside to speak of. It may not hit quite as hard as the other two, but it's a very reliable Lance that doesn't require any affinity offsetting, and works wonders against Thunder-weak monsters like Rathalos and Uth Duna.

How to get Indra Clairlance:

The Indra Clairlance Lance is the final form of the Rey Dau tree. Here are the prerequisite crafting requirements:

  1. Hope Lance I: 200z
  2. Hope Lance II: 2x Iron Ore, 500z
  3. Balahara Lance I: 3x Balahara Scale, 1x Balahara Skull, 1x Aqua Sac, 800z
  4. Rey Indra I: 3x Rey Dau Scale, 2x Rey Dau Wingtalon, 1x Rey Dau Thunderhorn, 2000z
  5. Rey Indra II: 2x Rathian Certificate S, 3x Rathian Webbing, 1x Novacrystal, 4000z
  6. Rey Indra III: 3x Rey Dau Certificate S, 4x Rey Dau Fulgurtalon, 1x Rey Dau Tail, 1x Rey Dau Plate, 14000z
  7. Indra Clairlance: 5x Hunter Symbol Ill, 6x Rey Dau Carapace, 4x Rey Dau Bolthorn, 1x Rey Dau Boltgem, 20000z
